Irena and Bill

We just got back from our Honeysun (not a Honeymoon, because they are done after the wedding) and we had an incredible time. For a week and a half, Irena and I explored Ireland, Northern Ireland and Scotland. We focused on ancient spiritual sites highlighted by experiencing the power of Newgrange and Calanais. Here is one of my favorite pictures from Calanais.

After our cross countries exploring (if this is Tuesday this must be Oban) we wrapped up the Honeysun in grand fashion joining Jamie Kiguchi and a whole slew of friends at Dundas Castle in Edinburgh. If was the perfect way to wrap up our adventure in the lap of luxury.

Flower girl dresses have been delivered and the girls all look like angels. 

RSVPs continue to roll in. We are up over 110 people and so far the most Seussically awesome reply goes to our dear friends in Vancouver, B.C., Eric and Julie Startup. They not only replied (unfortunately that they can’t make it) in Seusical prose, they even printed it on velum, like the original invites and attached that to the reply card. Julie and Eric (yes for those of you keeping track their first names are ironic) despite missing the ceremony will still be part of the summer of love as we will be enjoying our Honeymoon at their B&B in Deep Cove the weekend after our wedding.

Tri-Tip and Chicken has been prepped and spiced and is sealed away in the freezer to be thawed right before the BBQ. Augmenting our own wine collection, Matty B has provided us with a case of wine from his winery, Cordon Creek. Looks like Matty dug into his own private collection as we got 2002 vintage! We also picked up some White Zin and Pinot Grigio to round out the wine options. On the beer front, we of course have the home brewed Three Bitches Brew and Trophy Wife Pale Ale. For people that enjoy a slightly lighter fare of beer, we also have some Coronas and some Coors Light. Last thing to really prep from the BBQ side is the veggie kabobs. Also on the BBQ front, we have assembeld a virtual who’s who of master BBQ talent to man the fire! Wild Bill, Slim Jim, Mike the Master and Brendan the Brave will be seeing that our Roast Beast and Veggie kabobs come out perfect. 

People continue to contribute to World Vision as our gift registry. Thanks to you all that have contributed generously.

I may have misled some folks into thinking I had reserved their rooms for them, partially due to the fact that I was a bit confused on how the whole process worked. So if you haven’t booked a room for yourself, neither have I, so you better get on it. If you need help and don’t want to be misled again, I would suggest talkin to Irena

The focus I need from all of you for the next two weeks is to put all of your positive energy into the perfect weather day.

Next big event is Pre-Wedding Honeymoon which kicks off with our flight to Dublin a week from Friday, June 24th.

Here are bullet point highlights on activities since the last update.

Flower Girl dresses are coming along great and look awesome. Lily has tried hers on and wants the wedding to be today so she can wear her dress now! Gisele’s is done and will be sent down to LA for a fitting. Most of Kirestin’s is done, with the ribbons and trim left to be done. A big shout out to Carnl and Irena for all of the effort they have put into these beautiful dresses.

Invitations have been sent out and RSVPs are already coming in. Some of you have been very Seussically creative in your replies adding further joy for Irena and I beyond the fact you will be joining us at our celebration.

We have had a few people ask questions about the BBQ meal options. We will have Tri-Tip, Chicken, Beans (gotta have some Blazing Saddles entertainment for around the campfire!) and a whole slew of salads for your enjoyment. If you want vegetarian (we are going to do Veggie Kabobs) you should indicate that on your RSVP card, otherwise we will assume you are dining on ‘Roast Beast’.

We listed World Vision as our registry for people wishing to give gifts and we received our first confirmation of someone’s generous gift. Thanks!

I would like all of you to call in the powers at your disposal to start working on perfect celebration weather for July 30th. No rain and not too hot. Let’s calibrate in at about 78 degrees and sunny! We will have some canopies to optimistically handle giving people shade if needed.

We have the head BBQ chef and a volunteer lined up to help, but we could propably use a couple more Sous Flame Master volunteers. So if anyone is interested in helping out let me know. As a perk for your effort, you go to the front of the priority list when it comes to sampling the home brew!!

Speaking of the home brew, both batches earned the Tom Rigdon seal of approval, as over Memorial Day weekend, Tom served as our unbiased tester.

Hotel rooms are filling up. All of the Suites have been booked and although they originally gave us until the 30th to book, they are getting pressure to release rooms due to Whaling Days. So message here is get your rooms booked ASAP. Two posts below give you Oxford info (where our block of rooms are at) and other local options.

Special audience participation for ceremony involves 50 Kazoos and a Flautist! How much fun is that?

All the travel for both of our honeymoons have been booked. Yes I said both, we are doing one before (Ireland/Scotland) our wedding and one after (Vancouver, BC)

Rings are done and they look awesome.

Guys weekend in Vegas set for June 11th/12th. (Guidelines are very clear, “Don’t call for bail money, respect me and no Mike Tyson face tattoos!”)

Met with Reverend Lynnea and reviewed the ceremony.

Our mommies are going to be our witnesses (thanks Marie and Kathie).

People are starting to check into our block of rooms in Silverdale.
